There is a need to move forward, making the tools easier to use, more powerful and more flexible.Īs Ive said, this and one other are the excellent reproductions of the of the past and can do almost anything you commonly need to do but I would love to see some of the limitations of the originals addressed in totally new designs and versions that fix problems like monochrome printing and plotting on a low resolution, non-zoomable tiny screen. I love the wonderful type 1s but I want to see the same skill and design genius that gave us the originals applied toward a totally new tool. This calculator fits in category 1 down to replicating the terrible font rendering of the original. ![]() HP, in my opinion, made the finest engineering tools that I have seen however there is a point where for utilitys sake its time to rethink the role of the calculator and create something even better. ![]() ![]() In the world of calculators there are at least two types: 1) those that try and emulate the original machine and 2) those that try to provide a tool in this environment that can assist the user without regard to emulation. This is an awesome calculator and this or the HP 41cx can handle just about anything an engineer might throw at it.
